cOMING UP THIS MAY AND JUNE 2023 - When dance heals community
An audience with the South African King of Pantsula Dance Rush Mabanana coming to Australia in May and June 2023
Dance is one of the tools we use to connect through a shared understanding of self to transform self and others. We are therefore very excited to be collaborating with Tshepo Alfred Ramokgopha popularly known as Rush Mabanana, a world renowned dancer choreographer from the province of Limpopo, South Africa where many young people in that part of the world are inspired by thugs and criminals leading to increased incidents of drug use, mental health issues, disengagement with school and family; and many end up in prison or dead.
Rush has always been determined to use the art of dance and story telling to communicate messages of hope and love including through the following engagements:
community work with the children's community theater where he has trained over 3000 young dancers and actors.
he has been featured in multiple music videos which includes South African greats like Makhadzi, Master Kg, Big Nuz .
He was part of the Makhadzi one woman show both in Venda and Namibia.
Recently (Nov 2022) traveled to Australia with Makhadzi as part of the African Queen Tour to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Conducted a successful dancing workshop in Sydney and Melbourne in November 2022.
In December 2022 , again collaborated with us by choreographing a dance move for our annual Christmas Appeal dance challenge for Goodna Street Life, Goodna, Australia.
